Ingredient!
1 loaf of French bread
1 pound of lean mince
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 can of mushroom cream soup
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups of grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
Preparation!
Preheat the oven to 350 ° Fahrenheit. Cut the baguette in two, lengthwise, so that you have two equal pieces. Scoop the bread out in the middle of each piece. Place the bread in a large bowl and tear it into small pieces. Place the two halves of French bread on a large baking sheet. Put aside.
Brown the minced meat and onion in a large saucepan over medium heat. Drain any fat. Add the celery and garlic to the frying pan. Cook for a few minutes until celery is soft. Then add soup, milk and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook the mixture until heated, another 5 minutes or so.
Add the beef mixture to the bread in the large bowl. Stir to combine. Pour the mixture in the middle of one half of the baguette. Spread evenly. Above the mixture with the grated cheese. Top with the other half of the bread.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes before you cut and serve. To enjoy!
